OrthoMCQ was not built by a corporate tech company. It was engineered from the ground up as a dedicated active-recall platform to help orthopaedic residents, trainees, and medical students master complex clinical concepts, prepare for exams like the MRCS, and sharpen their day-to-day ward knowledge.

The platform is developed and maintained by Dr. Subhajit Maji, an Expert Orthopaedic Surgeon based in West Bengal, India.
- Education: Alumnus of the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh (MS Orthopaedics).
- Clinical Practice: Balancing a demanding role instructing students at IQ City Medical College with an active private clinical practice across Durgapur and Bankura.

💻 The Technical Edge: Why Custom-Built?
Standard learning management systems (LMS) are clunky and not optimized for the rapid-fire pacing a surgical resident needs. Because Dr. Maji is also an experienced full-stack developer, OrthoMCQ runs on a proprietary, custom-coded engine. Every feature—from the intelligent topic-feed algorithm to the instantaneous flashcard UI—was explicitly designed to eliminate friction and maximize study efficiency during short breaks on night shifts.

Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information OrthoMCQ ("we", "us", "our") collects when you use orthomcq.in and any associated mobile app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using the platform, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Account information: when you register, we collect your username, email address, and password (stored in encrypted/hashed form, never in plain text). If you complete your profile, we also collect your first and last name.
Sign-in via Facebook: if you choose to log in with Facebook, we receive your name and email address from Facebook, as authorized by you at the time of sign-in. We never receive your Facebook password.
Study activity: to power your dashboard, streaks, and weak-topic analysis, we record which questions you’ve attempted, whether each answer was correct, and any questions you bookmark to your Review Vault.
Messages you send us: if you submit the Contact form or a Support Desk ticket, we collect your name (if given), email address, and the content of your message, including any question reference you attach to an error report.
Automatically collected data: like most websites, our server and analytics tools (see Section 3) automatically log standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and the pages you visit.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account, and verify your email address before activating it.
- To save your practice progress, streaks, and bookmarks across sessions and devices.
- To respond to messages sent through the Contact form or Support Desk.
- To send account-related emails (email verification, password reset, ticket confirmations).
- To maintain the security of the platform and prevent abuse.
- To understand aggregate usage patterns (e.g. which topics are most practiced) so we can improve the platform.
We do not use your study data to make any clinical, employment, or academic decision about you, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.
3. Cookies & Third-Party Services
We use essential cookies to keep you securely logged in between visits. We also use the following third-party services, each of which may process limited data on our behalf under their own privacy policies:
- Google (Site Kit / Analytics / Search Console): anonymized/aggregated traffic and performance data, to understand how the site is used.
- Facebook Login (Nextend Social Login): only used if you choose to sign in with Facebook, as described in Section 1.
- Our hosting provider: processes standard server logs necessary to run the site securely.
4. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share limited information with the service providers listed in Section 3 solely to operate the platform, or if required to do so by law, regulation, or a valid legal process.
5. Data Security
Passwords are stored hashed, not in plain text, and the platform is served over HTTPS. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and study data for as long as your account remains active, so your progress, streaks, and vault stay available across sessions. You can permanently erase your practice history at any time from your dashboard’s "Reset All Progress" option, and you can request full account deletion as described below.
7. Your Rights & Choices
You can review and update your name, email, and password at any time from Account Settings. To request a copy of your data, or to permanently delete your account and associated data, contact us using the details in Section 9 — we will action verified requests within a reasonable time.
8. Children’s Privacy
OrthoMCQ is an educational platform intended for orthopaedic residents, trainees, and medical students, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16.
